FLorida Department of Transportation

Project Overview

A first-of-its-kind project, D3Energy has partnered with Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to transform one of FDOT’s retention ponds into a renewable energy resource for the community. This innovative installation will be the largest floating solar (FPV) project in the Southeast United States, delivering clean, sustainable power to Orlando residents while demonstrating how underutilized water surfaces can be leveraged for large-scale energy production. By combining public infrastructure with advanced solar technology, the project sets a new benchmark for renewable energy development in the region.
